About Us

The COVID-19 Pandemic of 2020 put a stop to most live performances for most musicians, dancers, actors and other creatives for the year and some. It was during this "lull" of activities that allowed the idea an outdoor performance space became a reality.

Sometime between March and June of 2020, Pin Lim, Edgar Guajardo and Thomas Helton were talking with each other about their individual projects when they realized that they had the resources to built a performance space for all of their own projects. With generous help and sponsorship from Opera In the Heights, they built an outdoor stage at Helton's backyard, installed with proper stage lights.

The P.E.T Outdoor Theatre hopes to provide a safe space and environment for artists needing a place to do their projects, to feed the continued need for artistic expressions, and real live interactions with fellow artists and/or an audience. Artists can perform with or without an audience, for live performances or recordings. The stage and space is not designed for large ensembles or a large audience, rather for a small number of performers (one or a few) with shorter programs to be enjoyed by a small audience of no more than 20 people, properly social distanced and with masks on.

It's a solution for some, not the solution for all. We hope it is at least a way forward in these challenging times.
